Who runs a reseller program

Reseller and dealer programs make sense when the partner sells for you — carrying your product into markets, verticals, or languages where you have nobody on the ground.

  • Distributors and dealers

Partners who buy at a discount and resell, each with their own margin, their own pricing, and their own customer relationships.

  • Systems integrators

Firms that bundle your product into a larger implementation and need certainty about which deals are protected before they invest weeks in one.

  • Regional and local partners

Sellers who need collateral, terms, and payouts in their own currency and language rather than a translated afterthought.

How a reseller deal moves

From setting terms to paying a dealer in their own currency, without leaving the platform.

  1. 1

    Set up tiers and terms

Define your dealer levels and the reward rule behind each one — a flat margin, a percentage, or a rate that steps up with volume. No code and no developer time.

  2. 2

    Reseller registers a deal

Before working an opportunity the partner registers it from their portal. The record shows who claimed the account and when, so two partners don't chase it blind.

  3. 3

    You approve and track

Accept, decline, or ask for more detail. Approved deals stay attributed to that reseller for the whole cycle, and both sides look at the same status.

  4. 4

    Pay out in local currency

Rewards accumulate per partner and per currency. Approve a payout run and each reseller is paid in the currency they invoice in, with a record finance can reconcile.

Reseller vs referral and affiliate

A reseller owns the customer conversation — they quote, negotiate, and often invoice — which is why deal registration and margin tiers matter here and nowhere else. A referral partner only makes the introduction and takes a flat fee for it. An affiliate is paid on tracked transactions with no conversation at all. If your partners need to know a deal is theirs before they put weeks into it, you're running a reseller program.

Reseller program questions

What does deal registration actually protect?

It records that a specific reseller claimed a specific opportunity, with a timestamp. When a second partner turns up with the same account, you settle it from the record rather than from memory — and both partners can see that the rule was applied consistently.

Can different dealers earn different rates?

Yes. Reward rules are set per tier, per program, or per volume threshold, so a top-tier distributor and a partner who signed last month can sell the same product on completely different terms. Changing a rate is a form, not a release.

How do multi-currency payouts work?

Rewards are held in the currency of the program the partner belongs to, and payouts go out in that same currency. A dealer in Poland and one in Brazil each see numbers they recognise, without anyone converting by hand or arguing about the rate used.

Do resellers see the terms I give other partners?

No. Each partner's portal shows only what you've made available to them and their tier, so a volume distributor never sees the arrangement you made with a strategic integrator.
